  1. The article is informative and accurate, but at the same time not dealing with all the factors.Teachers are a part of the problem also and also the public schooling that the kids may come from that did not work with the students. This needs to be an effort from all involed. How can students learn something thats not taught?

I believe that the student's attitude mostly results in how much is learned. Some students come to college without the focus of academics, but fun. Others are affected by peers and get off track. I believe that it is up to the student to want to learn more, and if so, the teacher should be ready and willing to pursue the student's academic goals.

The article is really right about majority of what was stated. Yes some students do choose easy majors that dont require a lot of hard work.Honestly I think that Colleges should aquire some type of system that requires each student to utilize their minds more effectivley.

This article is really true. We as atudents and professors do not put enough effort into our education.students try to half step and always have the easy way out. we complain about so much work and then when we get a professor that doesn't teach we eiher get mad or we think its ok that they dont want to teach. The article adds up, the question is will we as students be able to say that we did all we could.

  5. Most of the time a students attitude is a result of what they have learned. So I would say that the article is somewhat accurate. Sometimes the teacher can also be a problem when it comes to teaching the student and trying to help. But also all in all we as students need to realize that we can't always use our teachers as our backbones. the most important thing that matters with it all though is that we do our part and try to make a difference as a student ourselves.

There is some truth to this, but there are also some underlying issues that are somewhat difficult to explain. To someone else it may seem weird that we have so much leisure time on our hands, but are still able to deliver on the academic playing field. This is partly because we posess the communiaction skills to ensure that we learn whatever we need to knnow in very narrow time frames. In other words, what is not learnded in the classroom can easily be learned elsewhwre via a colleauge or technology. However, there ARE those who may excessively depend on that and fail absorb the knowledge.

This article is accurate and common with the black community especially with boys. The problem isn't the college systerm. This has to do with individuals first .We all have a common weakness, which is the fear of sacrifising so much time studying and little time for pleasuer.Though we all love to succeed it is difficult to for us to do our best of best which we know we can if we do make this sacrifises. We preffer to suffer at times the consequence of failure. In other to help us not to be caugth by the natural law of reaping what we saw and of the systerm, the college systerm provides easier means for student not to get standed in the society. It is all left to the individual to win the internal battles within themselves .Only Then can we do our very best and help others to meet up with the need of the soceity /the U.s.

  8. I believe the article is somewhat right because students are choosing easier majors and studying less. However that does not account for all students in every college. There are still those who do study and have difficult majors. I also believe it depends on which university the student attends. Some universities' requirements are tougher than others. Although, there are those students who do just go to college because they have nothing better to do, and they party the whole time they are there. However the ones I know who have done this are the same ones who dont make it and drop out if college. In my opinion this article is only somewhat accurate.

  9. This article in my opinion is exactly right to a ceratin extent. I would have to say that colleges are going down as far as people learning. This is both the students and universities fault. I think money has a lot to do with it too. Teachers may not be satified with pay or just really not concerened wit teaching and helping people learn. There are teachers and students who are studying and teaching to their full capacity. Some colleges are much worse than others, but this is going on everywhere. I believe this article brought up good points.

  10. I believe the article is right because their is alot of students taking easier courses and majors so they don't have to put in hard work. But there are still some students that are working hard and studying long hours to get the grades they want and need to be able to make it in the real world.Marsha dorsey

  11. I disagree with the article. I don't feel that modern students aren't studying as hard or are only concerned with partying. I think nowadays, technology had made education more efficient. That gives more free time to engage in activities outside of school. Also, I highly doubt that school is the only venue to obtain critical thinking skills. School teaches many things but it is not the be all and end all for education.

  12. I disagree with the article. I feel like most people can party and still pass there classes. Most teacher now days give you alot of work and dont care that you have other work from other classes. Some students come to college for a year and then just drop out.

  13. This article is true for some students. Some students are use to partying more then studying. When certain students enter into college, they don't know how to ajust to begin independent.

  14. College should be place for everybody. For that student who needs to find her or herself, it should be for the driven student, there should be a place for that mother or father that decide to go place to school, the grandmother that want would like to keep with changes and the professional who want to better him or herself. Education is more that learning fundamental basic skills. this article only looks at one way. Universities should provide resources for students and teacher, Teacher show inspire and guide, but students must have the desire to learn it. This article is limited and only discuss one part of the equation.

  15. I would have to say I disagree with this article. This article only focus on one thing while there are many things about college. Not only should the students have an attitude of I want to learn, I want to be here even if I was force to be here. The teachers should have the attitude as to say I am going to teach you everything you need to know about this subject or topic. I don't like the saying meet me half way because if you are only giving 50% than the other 50% is what makes the article become true but if teachers and students give 100% all the time it will make a big differents in how we react and respond to educcation and collge as a whole.
